Leafy Pymble
| Brick Lane Café - West Pymble |
On Friday night Bev's daughter came for dinner and stayed the night. I cooked Chicken Leek and Tarragon mini pies with steamed greens. We tried an interesting Maçon chardonnay which is so different to the Australian wines and to an extent New Zealand wines. A little more mineral and not as fruity but treated delicately with oak.
The next morning the girls made the decision to go for breakfast in the West Pymble shopping centre which is about three kilometres south-west of Bev's apartment. It is a good walk and was a way of combining walking and eating. We had a nice breakfast at a café called Brick Road although my dish came out feeling almost frozen requiring me to ask them to warm it up a bit. It was too cold to have something nearly frozen.
Pymble is a very leafy suburb full of rather expensive homes, some of which are very big. Below are some of the properties and surrounds.
Over a couple of years we watched this house being built and thought it was several apartments and were surprised to find that it was a five bedroom house with six bathrooms. It comes with an in ground swimming pool and no doubt lots of other luxuries but unlike many others there is not a lot of shade from trees for the rather hot summers.
