Grandchild minding
Photo nothing to do with the days events.
Childminding was the task for the day. Bev was the childminder and I was emotional support. As it turned out I was mainly the buggy pusher. Bev's son lives in St Peters and nearby is Marrickville where it it had been suggested that the little boy be taken to a library. They are two inner west suburbs that were once working class areas but with their proximity to the CBD they have gentrified and further intensified.
Bev went a bit earlier than me to get instructions from her son and to acquaint herself with the rigours of managing a 18 month old toddler who is actually quite cute.
I turned up at the Marrickville library just as Bev was ready to relocate to a café for a coffee.
Marrickville is the electorate of the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his electorate office was in the main street surrounded by pro- Palestine protestor flags and placards with a few people keeping vigil.
The coffee break was good and the little boy, once we had positioned him with a view of the café, went to sleep so we and the rest of the café could enjoy our coffees in peace. Bev had obviously exhausted him.
After our coffee we went for a walk along the main street before then making our way toward St Peters. We came across a park with a play area which was an ideal place to let the little chap race around. Then it was a final push to Bev's son's home to return the bundle of joy.
Rain had been predicted but fortunately it held off for the day and it warmed up nicely although it stayed grey and overcast.
We ended up exploring the area a bit which was nice. It seems to be a more "white" area with notably less Asians who it seem have gravitated to parts of the North Shore. In contrast it looks like there are a more southern European and middle East diaspora. It makes for a vibrant and interesting range of cusines available.
